The story behind newleaf

The tension that lives in your shoulders. The jaw you clench without noticing. The mental hum that follows you home from work and won't quite switch off.

Your body absorbs all of it - and most of us never give it a real chance to let go.

New Leaf is for LGBTQ+ adults who are ready to stop carrying it.

About me

Jamie Cross, massage therapist

I'm Jamie, and I work with people and their bodies in Hackney, East London.

I came to massage after years of living in a high-pressure world and not fully realising what my body was holding onto. Like many of us, I'd learned to push through, to stay switched on. Massage became a way back — a way of learning how to soften, rest, and listen again.

My work blends Swedish massage with deeper, more targeted work, but what I'm really interested in is quality of touch. Pace. Pressure. Rhythm. How we create enough safety for the body to settle, and enough trust for you to properly receive.

I know firsthand the quiet power of bodywork — how the right touch can ease long-held tension, restore a sense of balance, and help us feel more at home in ourselves.

While my practice is open to all, I'm especially honoured to work with LGBTQ+ adults. Many of us have complicated relationships with touch, shaped by vigilance or feeling out of place. This is a space where you don't need to explain yourself or stay guarded.

I work collaboratively with you, adjusting each session so it feels right for your body — with the aim that you leave feeling not just lighter, but more settled.

When I'm not working, I'm usually moving my body, making or listening to music, or resting in ways I once didn't know how to.

My main practice is based at my studio in Haggerston, Hackney. I also offer home visits for those who'd rather be treated in their own space.

I'd love to welcome you. Take your time.

Jamie
